one of those conversations...

jas: he(Mum's boss)'s the kind of boss who thinks that his money is so big and nobody is indispensable to him.
me: Really... then, how do you explain why he rejected and tore Mum's resignation letter?
jas: Well... Mum's somebody!

me: I think I've seen this (picture of ) Jesus somewhere...
em: What do you mean?
me: I've seen this Jesus somewhere...
em: (amused) Which Jesus have you not seen somewhere?
me: Many. But I've seen this one before... in Hollywood movies.

A new chapter

Singapore GE 2011 came and gone. Let the dust settle, the reflections be in-progress and the actions begin.

A political awakening. That's for myself, at least. Having an awful flu-like kind of throat due to sleeping at 0330h, following the election results, so faithfully and consistently announced by the Returning Officer, who's becoming a bit of a celebrity himself.

Young blood in parliament. New ones too. We want to see surprises, in the little ways that they may happen.

Crazily hot weather. I don't recall this hot since... well, last year. Not too long ago. We are baking in this eco-emergency, mainly catalysed by our own inconsideration.

Matthew was a tax collector. The most read/bought book in the world can be quite interesting. The converting is not happening, but the reading is. And next week onwards, the attending ought to too. Then again, I'm never a 100% attendance kind of pupil.

I think, in very, very small ways, there is a new kind of bonding. I don't know if Em feels it, but I do. I wouldn't call it spiritual bonding. It's more like understanding him a little more and one more thing to do together.

More than half the term gone. Soon, this year would have met the half-year mark. So fast!

A new dawn, a new week. Let us see change, in its own small ways. Meanwhile, I need to nurse that yucky flu-y feeling away. Goodnight, sleep tight, home - Singapore.
